Rabbit Veterinary Services in Coventry
Rabbits require very specific care catered to their needs, and at Godiva Vets we have both the knowledge and experience to provide it well.
We are a Silver Award Rabbit Friendly Practice given by the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund.
Our team understands how quickly rabbits can deteriorate when something's wrong, which is why we ensure every rabbit is seen as soon as possible when they are unwell.
Common Veterinary Services for Rabbits
-
Rabbits in the UK need protection against Myxomatosis and Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease (RHD1 and RHD2). This is provided along with protection against the new highly virulent strains of Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease 2 (RHD2) using Yurvac vaccine. See our vaccination page for more information.
-
Rabbits have continuously growing teeth, which means dental issues can be common. Some signs may include, stopping eating, difficulty eating, drooling, changes to faeces, dirty bottom or weight loss. Please contact us straight away if you notice a change in your rabbits eating, weight or behaviour.
-
Neutering rabbits is very beneficial to their overall health and wellbeing. Unneutered female rabbits have a very high risk of uterine cancer or uterine infections. Neutering both sexes will support a more harmonious bond between bonded pairs and groups of rabbits, as well as helping with some more difficult behaviours unneutered rabbits may exhibit. We'll advise on the best timing and what to expect. See our neutering page for more information.

A slowdown in gut movement can be life-threatening in rabbits. If your rabbit has reduced appetite, stopped eating or has changes to their faeces, contact us immediately.
-
We don’t recommend routine preventative parasite treatment for your rabbit at Godiva vets, however mites and worms can be a common presentation in pet rabbits. We will not only treat the current parasite problem but will look at the surrounding factors as to why the rabbit got it in the first place.

Though not a legal requirement for rabbits, we recommend microchipping your pet rabbits to ensure the best chances of them being reunited with you if ever they got lost.
